Ned Thanhouser è un regista statunitense che abbiamo avuto il piacere di conoscere alla prima edizione di MotoTematica quando presentò il documentario finalista “The monkey and her driver”.
Ned è molto attento alla storia motociclistica, ed in particolare quella nordamericana, proponendo sempre argomenti poco conosciuti o glorie del passato come in “Ray Tauscher: America’s Forgotten World Champion Motorcycle Racer”
Raymond F. Tauser ha avuto il suo anno perfetto nel 1931 vincendo campionati in Australia, Inghilterra, Francia, Svezia, Germania e Danimarca. Ma i suoi successi e la successiva promozione dello sport dopo il ritiro dalle corse sono stati dimenticati. Nonostante sia morto nel 1981 a causa di un tumore al cervello, la sua storia viene ora raccontata in prima persona come se stesse raccontando la sua carriera. Grazie ai membri della famiglia e agli storici che hanno salvato i libri di scarto di Ray, gli album fotografici e i cimeli delle corse, Ned ed il suo team sono stati in grado di ricostruire la sua storia di vita e di raccontarlo in questo documentario affinché altri possano sperimentare e ricordare i suoi successi e contributi allo sport.

Ned Thanhouser is an north American director who we had the pleasure of meeting at the first edition of MotoTematica when he presented the finalist documentary “The monkey and her driver”.
Ned is very attentive to motorcycle history, and in particular that of North America, always proposing little-known topics or glories of the past as in “Ray Tauscher: America’s Forgotten World Champion Motorcycle Racer”
Raymond F. Tauser had his perfect year in 1931 by winning championships in Australia, England, France, Sweden, Germany and Denmark. But his achievements and subsequent promotion of the sport after retiring from racing were forgotten. Although he died in 1981 from a brain tumor, his story is now being told in the first person as if he were telling his career. Thanks to family members and historians who rescued Ray’s scrap books, photo albums and racing memorabilia, Ned and his team were able to piece together his life story and tell it in this documentary for others can experience and remember his achievements and contributions to sport.
