“Fizzy Boys” di Christine Bullock

Fizzy Boys è il primo documentario del tecnico suono ed effetti sonori sperimentale Chris Bullock. Esplora l’amicizia nella mezza età e la ricerca del divertimento duraturo e della compagnia attraverso le tribù dell’adolescenza delle persone.

L’autrice racconta:

“Questo è il mio primo documentario, che esplora un sottoinsieme del fenomeno dei ciclomotori sportivi degli anni ’70 e ’80. Se è un successo, mi piacerebbe attirare l’attenzione su altri personaggi appassionati nelle nostre comunità. Fizzy Boys è stato realizzato senza alcun budget oltre a prendere una videocamera HD-DV economica e leggermente difettosa da eBay e trovare un po ‘di soldi per le iscrizioni ai festival. Questo spirito di narrazione indipendente a budget zero è qualcosa che mi piacerebbe molto continuare”.

Chris è un tecnico del suono e per divertimento crea anche opere d’arte sonore per lo più inascoltabili. Ha lavorato nel settore del suono per diversi anni, inclusa la realizzazione di contenuti online per sommari fondi di investimento internazionali, pupazzi parlanti e produttori di frigoriferi bizzarri. Avendo lavorato come tecnico del suono per diversi anni, ha capito che ciò che l’attraeva davvero era aiutare le persone a raccontare le loro storie. Le persone più interessanti hanno la passione più grande per le loro “cose”, non importa quanto siano di nicchia. Le comunità si formano, si legano e talvolta si disgregano nei minimi dettagli.

Fizzy Boys is the first documentary from experimental sound and sound effects engineer Chris Bullock. Explore friendship in middle age and the pursuit of lasting fun and companionship through the adolescent tribes of people.

The author says:

“This is my first documentary, which explores a subset of the sport moped phenomenon of the 70s and 80s. If it’s a success, I’d like to draw attention to other passionate characters in our communities. Fizzy Boys was made without no budget other than grabbing a cheap, slightly defective HD-DV camcorder from eBay and getting some money for festival entries. This zero-budget independent storytelling spirit is something I’d love to continue”.

Chris is a sound engineer and for fun he also creates mostly unlistenable sonic artwork. He has worked in the sound industry for several years, including making online content for international investment fund summaries, talking puppets, and bizarre refrigerator manufacturers. Having worked as a sound engineer for several years, she realized what really attracted her was helping people tell their stories. The most interesting people have the greatest passion for their “things”, no matter how niche they are. Communities form, bond, and sometimes disintegrate down to the smallest detail.
