“Diari del giovane Don – Diarios de Don Quixote” di Walter Schmuck
Il documentario (auto) biografico “I diari del giovane Don” descrive in modo poetico il viaggio di un giovane verso la genitorialità.
Abbiamo affrontato questo argomento anche nella precedente edizione co il film “Dove Vai” di Eugenio Forconi (una romantica ed introspettiva fuga in moto) ed abbiamo trovato molto interessante vedere il differente approccio dei due filmaker.
Un caso di omicidio di 30 anni fa fornisce la scusa al giovane Don per un viaggio nel luogo in cui è accaduto: Cusco, Perù.
Spinto dalla curiosità e dalla voglia di avventura, alla ricerca di sentimenti che vadano oltre le certezze di una vita mitteleuropea, Don si procura una motocicletta, che d’ora in poi chiama Ronzinante. Con questa “cavalcatura” leale ma ostinata cerca di farsi strada attraverso le Ande, che non sono solo pietrose, ma anche piene di pericoli. È accompagnato dalla voce di sua moglie e dall’urgenza di stare con lei e la figlia non ancora nata un giorno.
Il film è stato creato da documenti originali e sentimenti veri registrati durante un viaggio attraverso il Perù.
Walter Schmuck, oltre ada aver diretto altri cortometraggi, è un artista tedesco di cinema, teatro e motivatore.

The (self) biographical documentary “Young Don’s diaries” poetically describes a young man’s journey towards parenthood.
We have also addressed this topic in the previous edition with the film “Dove Vai” by Eugenio Forconi (a romantic and introspective motorcycle escape) and we found it very interesting to see the different approach of the two filmmakers.
A murder case from 30 years ago gives young Don an excuse for a trip to the place where it happened: Cusco, Peru.
Driven by curiosity and the desire for adventure, in search of feelings that go beyond the certainties of a Central European life, Don procures a motorcycle, which from now on he calls Ronzinante. With this loyal but stubborn “mount” he tries to make his way through the Andes, which are not only stony, but also full of dangers. It is accompanied by the voice of his wife and the urge to be with her and her unborn daughter one day.
The film was created from original documents and true feelings recorded during a trip through Peru.
In addition to directing other short films, Walter Schmuck is a German film, theater artist and motivator.
